Shiva Sahastranam

In our scriptures, Lord Shiva is described as the destroyer of the universe (Pralayakarta) and also the protector from destruction, i.e., the preserver. Shiva Sahastranam is a compilation of one thousand names of Lord Shiva, which reveals his glory and divinity. Each name describes a specific attribute, power, or aspect of Shiva, representing his magnificent and all-pervading form.
 
According to the scriptures, Lord Vishnu was the first to worship Lord Shiva through the Sahastranam. It was through these thousand names that he pleased Lord Shiva, and that is why Shiva Sahastranam is considered undoubtedly effective and powerful. It not only describes the various forms and attributes of Lord Shiva but also serves as a divine means for devotees to receive his grace.
