In the ever-evolving world of television branding in Bangladesh, one name consistently stands at the forefront—Debashis Das. From the early days of his career at RTV to his current leadership role at Maasranga Television, Debashis has been not just a designer, but a trendsetter. His career is a living testament to how innovation, rooted in cultural sensitivity and visual storytelling, can transform an entire industry.
It all began in 2007, when a young motion graphics designer joined RTV with a hunger for experimentation. That hunger turned into vision when he moved to Jamuna Television, where Debashis reshaped the visual language of on-air branding. He broke away from repetitive templates, choosing instead to infuse every frame with narrative, emotion, and cultural resonance. The results were evident: Jamuna’s program graphics stood out, not just for their technical polish, but for how deeply they connected with viewers.
Today, as Deputy Manager of Graphics at Maasranga Television, Debashis continues to define and redefine what brand identity means on screen. Under his guidance, the channel’s visual output has matured into a sleek fusion of contemporary design and traditional symbolism. Whether it’s daily news graphics or visually rich special programs, his team ensures that each production speaks with a distinct visual voice.
What sets Debashis apart is his ability to merge storytelling with strategic branding. His visuals aren’t just decorations—they’re experiences that reflect the soul of the content they represent. That rare blend of artistry and precision has made him an essential force in shaping how millions of viewers engage with Bangladeshi TV today.
The industry has taken notice, both at home and abroad. In 2025, Debashis received a series of prestigious honors that recognized his creative leadership. Among them, the Bongo Gourab Samman (International) award in Kolkata, which celebrated his contributions as an “International Motion Graphics Leader.” This was followed by the South Asia Star Award in Dhaka for creative excellence in branding, and the Star Bangladesh Award as the “Digital Branding Leader of the Year.” He was also honored with the Excellence in Success Award for “Best Motion Graphics Artist” in program branding. The previous year, he was recognized by the global branding agency Laser Treat for “Best in Brand Communication.”
Yet for Debashis, recognition is only part of the journey. Education and mentorship lie at the heart of his mission. As a faculty member at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute since 2018, and a guest lecturer at Dhaka University since 2022, he has trained a new generation of designers—not just in technical proficiency, but in aesthetic judgment and conceptual thinking. His classroom is a place where software meets storytelling, where design becomes a language of emotion.
Beyond television and academia, Debashis has expanded his creative touch to the world of publishing. His portfolio includes over 200 book covers, each reflecting his keen eye for composition, typography, and visual mood. His designs are often minimalist yet impactful, showing his mastery in making less say more.
Recently, he served on the jury panel of the “For a Better, Greener Earth” international motion graphics competition, where he reviewed submissions from designers across the globe. At the same time, he has emerged as a vocal advocate for mental wellness in the creative field, conducting yoga and meditation sessions aimed at balancing high-performance with inner peace.
The legacy of Debashis Das is not just written in awards or titles. It’s visible every time a viewer turns on their TV and feels something deeper behind the visuals. It lives in the confidence of his students, in the aesthetic shifts of an entire industry, and in the quiet revolution he has led—one design at a time.
