Every year, the holy festival of Tulsi Vivah is celebrated with great joy on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This auspicious day symbolizes the divine union of Lord Vishnu and Mother Tulsi, in which Lord Vishnu is decorated in the form of Shaligram and the Tulsi plant is decorated as a bride and their marriage ceremony is performed, which is celebrated with joy and devotion throughout India.

The festival begins on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, also known as Devuthani Ekadashi, and is traditionally celebrated till Kartik Purnima. Since it is a 5-day festival, some people organize Tulsi Vivah according to their customs, not only on Ekadashi and Purnima but also on the dates in between them.

By worshipping Tulsi every day, happiness, peace and prosperity remain in the family. This year, the festival of Tulsi Vivah will be celebrated traditionally from 12 November 2024 i.e. Ekadashi to 15 November 2024 Purnima Tithi. Let us know when Tulsi Vivah is organized this year, as well as understand its worship method and importance in detail.

When is Tulsi Vivah 2024 (Tulsi vivah 2024 kab hai):-

According to Sanatan Panchang, this year Kartik month’s Shukla Paksha Ekadashi will start from 6:47 PM on 11 November 2024 and end at 4:06 PM on 12 November 2024. Similarly, Kartik Purnima Tithi will start from 06:19 AM on 15 November 2024 and end at 02:58 AM on 16 November 2024. Since Tulsi Vivah festival is celebrated with devotion for five days. Therefore, according to your tradition and customs, you can organize Tulsi Vivah on any day from Ekadashi to Kartik Purnima. Just make sure that there is no influence of inauspicious Bhadra at the time of organizing the marriage so that your puja is completely successful and fruitful.

Tulsi Vivah Pooja Vidhi (Tulsi Vivah Pooja Vidhi):

First of all, clean the place of worship and sprinkle Gangajal to purify it. Decorate the pavilion with sugarcane. Decorate the pot containing the Tulsi plant with ochre and flowers. In the evening, spread a red cloth on a wooden stool and place a seat on it. Place Tulsi on one seat and Shaligram Ji on the other seat. Place a Kalash on the right side of the stool. Bathe Tulsi and Shaligram Ji with Gangajal. Apply sandalwood tilak to Lord Shaligram and offer yellow flowers, fruits and clothes. Apply red sandalwood tilak to Tulsi Ji and offer fruits, flowers, red chunari, bindi and makeup items. Light incense sticks and a ghee lamp. Lift Shaligram Ji in your hands and make Tulsi Ji circumambulate 7 times. Now perform the aarti of Tulsi Ji and Shaligram Ji with full devotion. Offer kheer and sweets. If you want, you can recite Vishnusahasranaam on this occasion or you can also recite Tulsi Chalisa. In the end it is very important to apologize for your mistake.

This fast fulfils all wishes. The person who marries Tulsi and Shaligram on this auspicious occasion, all his sins are destroyed. Tulsi and Shri Hari always bless him. Apart from this, the importance of Tulsi marriage is mentioned in Shiv Puran. It is said that whoever consumes the leaves that fall from Tulsi on this day gets great virtue, whoever offers Tulsi leaves to Shaligram on this day, never feels the sorrow of separation from his wife. He is always loved by Shri Hari.
