According to details, the National Highway Authority Sialkot to Lahore Motorway was opened for public transportation, while the opening ceremony of the highway was canceled due to the threat of the Coronavirus. The 91 km long highway would connect Sialkot and Lahore through the eastern parts of Punjab, reducing travel time between the two cities to just 50 minutes. The Sialkot Expressway has been connected to Ring Road at the Mahmood Buti location, Lahore. It has four lanes, nine interchanges, 20 bridges, eight overpasses, and 18 underpasses.
The highway has been opened to transport vehicles through a smooth opening. Seven interchanges have been established on the Sialkot to Lahore motorway. No toll tax will be applied to vehicles until March 23. The Lahore Sialkot Expressway is expected to reduce the rush on GT Road and M2. According to the National Highway Authority, the Lahore Sialkot highway is equipped with modern facilities. A new phase of development will be launched in the area after the M11 motorway is operational.
