They have been involved in some of the most epic encounters of the tournament. It can also be said that the arch-rivals of the Quetta Gladiators are Peshawar Zalmi because both of these franchises have been involved in some of the most breath-taking matches in the history of the competition.
The Gladiators have brought some significant changes to the squad with their seasoned batsman Rilee Rossouw moving to the Multan Sultans. However, they still have the services of their premier players like Mohammad Nawaz, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal.
Mohammad Nawaz has been a consistent performer for the Gladiators with both bat and ball and he has been retained by the franchise as their Platinum pick. Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal also performed to the best of their abilities. Sarfraz Ahmed is a very successful T20 captain as he holds a win percentage of 61.9% with Quetta Gladiators.
Sarfraz has led Quetta Gladiators in 43 matches and he has won 26 out of those matches which makes him the most successful captain in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) history.
And the cherry on top of the ice is that the Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has also announced his availability for the tournament which is entirely scheduled in Pakistan.
Shane Watson and a few other foreign players like Kevin Pietersen and Rilee Rossouw had refused to travel to Pakistan in the past citing security reasons.
The unavailability of the foreign players in the past had a huge impact on the performance of Quetta Gladiators but this time around, they are going to have a full-fledged squad ready to take on the opposition teams in the much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.
