Player ratings as Youri Tielemans earns Foxes points at Goodison Park

Youri Tielemans secured a point for Leicester at Goodison Park as his side struggled with one goal to draw Everton.

The visitors dominated the opening proceedings, but it was the Toffees who took the lead as James Rodriguez worked some space before buckling a beauty in the far corner from Kasper Schmeichel.

Leicester forced Jordan Pickford to make many saves in the second half and the pressure was finally revealed as the England striker was cheated by Tielemans’ strike from distance, which he could get a helping hand.

The draw keeps Leicester in third place, two points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, while Everton is seventh.

Let’s get into the player ratings.

Jordan Pickford (GK) – 5/10 – Made four saves in total, but the main takeaway will be that his mistake cost his team a win.

Mason Holgate (RB) – 6/10 – Had some volatile moments against Harvey Barnes at first but gained momentum as the match progressed. Not really an offensive threat and eliminated in the second half.

Yerry Mina (CB) – 6/10 – Dominant air at the back for the Toffees and a strong presence. Ayoze Perez’s influence minimized alongside his partner Michael Keane.

Michael Keane (CB) – 7/10 – A solid exit for the England international. Crafted a particularly bright salvage tackle. Have a good season quietly.

Ben Godfrey (LB) – 6/10 – A seriously strong presence at the left rear, even if it is not his natural position. The attacking game is not particularly great but few have surpassed it.

James Rodriguez (RM) – 8/10 – Curled up in a beauty from the edge of the box to open the score. Added that bit of stardust Everton needed to get a head start when they struggled in the first half.

André Gomes (CM) – 6/10 –
Always happy to dribble in front of opponents, to make a record five Wednesday night, and his passes improved.

Tom Davies (CM) – 6/10 – Everton’s central midfielder partnership felt a bit of a sieve at times, but Davies recovered from a bad start to have a decent game. Made some crucial interceptions and clearances.

Lucas Digne (LM) – 7/10 – I pushed the field to offer more offensive threat. Delivery from large areas was excellent as usual. Skipper for the night.

Wesley Fofana and Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Richarlison (ST) – 5/10 – Grafted and did his defensive job but couldn’t do anything in an offensive sense.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (ST) – 6/10 – Everyone’s favorite FPL striker had little to do with Leicester as Leicester dominated the ball. Had an intriguing battle with Leicester center-backs but will have better nights.

Alex Iwobi – 5/10

Gylfi Siggurdson – 5/10

Seamus Coleman – N / A

Kasper Schmeichel (GK) – 6/10 – Just the only save for the Dane, with Everton forwards failing as they advanced.

Timothy Castagne (RB) – 6/10 – Did well defensively, although his offensive forays left Leicester light at the back.

Wesley Fofana (CB) – 6/10 – A poor clearance attempt gave the ball back to Rodriguez, allowing the Colombian to hit the back of the net. Make sure that the error has not got the best of itself, being otherwise insured.

Jonny Evans (CB) – 7/10 – Outstanding again for the Foxes and got the better of Calvert-Lewin. Cut out a lot of crosses and was excellent in position.

James Justin (LB) – 6/10 – Reserved to stop an Everton counter in the first half, but well linked with Barnes on the left.

Marc Albrighton (RM) – 6/10 – Another transplant effort from the former Aston Villa winger. Makes some good trails but rarely spotted by those pulling the strings.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM) – 6/10 – Well covered in front of Leicester’s defense before taking a hit and being substituted.

Youri Tielemans (CM) – 8/10 – Pulled into the equalizer, helped somewhat by Pickford’s weak hand. Not as clean as the last few weeks, but still an extremely good performance.

Harvey Barnes (LM) – 8/10 – An electrical performance of the winger. Got the better of a number of Everton players throughout the game and won the assist for Tielemans’ goal.

James Maddison (AM) – 6/10 – Started brilliantly and found lots of pockets of space. Had a few free kicks in glorious positions but failed to deliver.

Ayoze Perez (ST) – 5/10 – Was managed efficiently by Keane and Mina, rarely having much space to work. It took a deep drop to reach the ball, contributing to some nice passages of play. But he’s just not Jamie Vardy.

Nampalys Mendy – 6/10 – I got involved after replacing Ndidi, making sure that the key midfielder was not missed too much.

Cengiz Under – 7/10 – Some mazy dribbling caught Everton at times, but the decision-making was a bit off-beat.

Caglar Soyuncu – 6/10 – I didn’t have much to defend when we arrived.
