Player ratings as Spurs reserve their place in Carabao Cup final

Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min both scored as Tottenham booked their places in the Carabao Cup final with a 2-0 win over Brentford

Spurs took the lead early on when Sissoko took advantage of some slack to lead Sergio Reguilon’s cross.

The hosts missed several opportunities to double their lead and almost paid for their waste when Ivan Toney pushed home from a corner kick – only to have the goal scored for offside.

Minutes later, Spurs put the game beyond doubt with Son ending a smooth counterattack to secure his side’s trip to Wembley in April. Brentford’s night then got worse when Josh Dasilva was sacked for a dangerous tackle on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ten minutes from time.

Here are your notes from Tottenham players in North London…

Hugo Lloris (GK) – 7/10 – Forced into two stops, both of which he completed with minimal fuss. His white sheet was saved by the width of Ivan Toney’s knee pad.

Serge Aurier (RB) – 7/10 – A few moments of madness, but overall solid. Made three blocks.

Davinson Sanchez (CB) – 8/10 – Incredibly strong in the air, winning a total of four team-top aerial duels.

Eric Dier (CB) – 8/10 – Another solid display from Spurs ever present. Tidy in possession and strong defensively, registering five clearances.

Sergio Reguilon (LB) – 8/10 – The delivery for the goal was absolutely superb. Provided a similar level of attack intent all night long.

Moussa Sissoko (CM) – 8/10 – Beautifully guided his head to the back of the net. Also showed a great industry.

Tanguy Ndombele (CM) – 7/10 – Assisted Son’s goal with a smart pass. Was quite dangerous throughout, causing issues with his dribbling. Disabled a goal on his own by the width of the post.

Lucas Moura (RW) – 6/10 – Had a quiet game. Struggled into the action and was occupied defensively by Rico Henry.

Harry Kane (ST) – 6/10 – Not his most influential game going forward, but he has done well to help defensively when needed. Missed a decent chance to make it 3-0.

Heung-min Son (LW) – 8/10 – Decided on the game with a devastating goal. His importance to this Spurs team cannot be overstated.
