Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer relishes an ‘excellent test’ against Liverpool on Sunday after seeing his side score three points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a midweek victory over Burnley at Turf Moor .
The game was United’s game in September and saw the Red Devils take the lead at this point in the season for the first time since 2012/13 when they last won the title.
Paul Pogba scored the only goal, making it 15 straight away undefeated away games for United since last January at Anfield. They have been unbeaten in every Premier League game since November 1 and have now taken 29 of the possible 33 points offered in the last 11 encounters.
“I am very happy, of course. Every time you get three points you are happy. We had to dig and win and we did it, ”Solskjaer told BBC Sport.
“We feel very confident before the games. Far from home, we did really well. We have to believe in ourselves and we do. We did a great job, it’s a good time. [Liverpool on Sunday] is a test against the champions, who were fantastic, a great test for us.

Pogba was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance and was already focusing on the next game at Anfield by the final whistle.
“It will be a great game for everyone. We knew if we won we would be ahead of the league when we play for Liverpool, ”Pogba also told BBC Sport.
“We have to keep our cool, now is the big time. We will see what will happen.
We sincerely believe that a new contract is more likely for Pogba than a transfer. Feel like all he ever wanted was to be a part of a competitive Utd squad with teammates who can match him. It seems close at hand now. Also help the market for him was cleared.

United’s form saw them drop from 15th following the disappointing loss to Arsenal in November. They really are the team with the momentum on their side, with Liverpool having won just four of their last 10 Premier League games.
