Nurkovic reveals the “little star” who is “the future of the Kaizer Chiefs”

Having played just four games for the Glamor Boys in the past two seasons, Ngcobo has become an integral part of the squad under Gavin Hunt.

Kaizer Chiefs shooter Samir Nurkovic spoke with praise about one of the club’s emerging young talents, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.

Nurkovic commented after Amakhosi’s 3-0 league win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.

The goals were scored by Ngcobo in the first half and substitutes Happy Mashiane and Lebogang Manyama in the second stanza.

For the first goal, Nurkovic grabbed a throw-in from the right before guiding the ball through the edge of the TTM box towards Ngcobo, who managed to lift the ball superbly over the head of a defender before flying past goalie Washington Arubi.

It was a second goal in two games for Ngcobo after scoring against Cape Town City this weekend. It was his third overall in a season in which he made 16 appearances in all competitions and firmly established himself in the heart of Amakhosi’s engine room.

“It was a great race from the little star,” said Nurkovic SuperSport TV post-match, in reference to 21-year-old Ngcobo’s goal against TTM.

“The little star is the future of the Kaizer Chiefs. I saw it and I just turned it on, and after that it did the rest. Amazing what he did there. ”

Nurkovic has had a huge impact since returning from a long-term injury this month, scoring one goal and creating two assists in his last three outings, while providing physical presence as a target man.

“After three difficult months for me of surgery and recovery, I am really happy to be on the pitch again and helping the boys as much as possible,” said the Serbian.

“I try to help the team as much as possible to achieve victories. Obviously I’m straightforward about scoring goals and helping goals and helping them. “

The Glamor Boys’ recent streak of good form – three wins in three games, brought them just above the relegation zone to seventh in the table, ahead of Wednesday’s Premier Soccer League matches.

The Chiefs are next in action on Saturday away in Cape Town against Stellenbosch FC.
