Manchester United roster from Everton
After a record-breaking 9-0 win over Southampton last time, Manchester United are looking to build on that momentum in their home clash against Everton in the Premier League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men showed no mercy on the Saints when they knocked out all nine men, and now the boss has to make decisions on whether to go with the same team or change it slightly.
With United three points behind Manchester City after playing one more game, a win is vital to staying in touch in the title race. Let’s take a look at the team chosen to start.
David De Gea (GK) – The Spain international defeated competition from Dean Henderson to maintain his number one status.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) – A goal and an assist in the 9-0 win was accompanied by a rescue tackle across the pitch – arguably his best performance in a red jersey.
Victor Lindelof (CB) – Faced with competition earlier in the year from a resurrected Eric Bailly but he continues to keep a high level and with the Ivorian injured.
Harry Maguire (CB) – The skipper has returned to good form since the start of the year and put in an excellent performance against Southampton.
Luke Shaw (LB) – Arguably the best left-back in the country this season, Shaw had two assists before resting for the next 45 minutes midweek.
Scott McTominay (CM) – The young Scotsman has been in good shape in recent weeks and his mobility and energy will be of great help in the midfield.
Paul Pogba (CM) – Despite the 9-0 win for a well-deserved rest, Pogba is back in this squad and will be ready to help on both ends of the pitch.
Bruno Fernandes (AM) – After five league games with no goals or assists, Fernandes bounced back with two assists and a penalty to get back on track.
Mason Greenwood (RW) – The youngster with 90 minutes under his belt against Southampton was excellent despite not being on the scoresheet.
Marcus Rashford (LW) – 16 goals for the season, Rashford has been United’s best striker this year and looks the most likely to do something in the top three right now.
Edinson Cavani (ST) – There were doubts whether the Uruguayan would be fit to start ahead of Anthony Martial, but he has another chance early on after starting the Southampton triumph.
