Kylian Mbappe ‘sends SOS’ to Real Madrid for possible summer transfer
Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is reportedly desperate to move to Real Madrid this summer, but Los Blancos know it will be easier said than done.
Los Blancos have been plotting to sign Mbappe for years, waiting for him to enter the last year of his contract this summer before rushing in and offloading the 22-year-old for a ‘reduced fee’ of up to £ 200million.
The deal was seen as achievable before the COVID-19 outbreak wiped out Real’s finances. They had to sell a lot of fringe players – like Gareth Bale, Marcelo, Isco, Luka Jovic, Brahim Diaz and Dani Ceballos were mentioned – but according to ABC even that may not be enough.
Mbappe is believed to be concerned that Blancos’ financial woes have kept them from signing him, and he is said to have contacted the Spanish side to make sure they will actually pursue him this summer.
The real ones want to do business with PSG but are aware of the huge cost of the deal. A fee of £ 142million is being suggested, and Real know that offloading these fringe players won’t earn them that kind of money.
Florentino Perez feels he should allow two major starts this summer, and one of the potential victims of the situation is winger Vinicius Junior, who happens to be wanted by PSG.
PSG have been dragging Vinicius for years and are said to be ready to include him in a swap deal for Mbappe, but the 20-year-old’s value is nowhere near Mbappe’s price, and so another sale must take place .
Up to the minute, it’s unclear who this player might be, and Real are now scrambling to gauge interest levels for some of their other good guys but not.this-good players.
There is also the matter of Mbappe’s substantial salaries to understand. He would want over £ 16million a year for his take-home pay, which could be freed up by offloading the unwanted gamers suggested at the very start.
The real ones are well aware of the problems they face in making this deal. PSG are pressuring Mbappe to make a decision on his future, and if Los Blancos can’t put their money where they are, they could miss this once in a lifetime deal.
