As we quickly move towards the latest edition of the Pakistan Super League, Karachi Kings fans are quite eager to see the entire Karachi Kings squad. Perhaps one of the most overrated teams in the competition is the Karachi franchise, as they have always been able to disappoint their fans on the biggest stage. Take a look below at the Karachi Kings Squad 2020.
PSL 2020 Karachi Kings Squad
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings is going to make sure that they don’t want to repeat the mistakes of the earlier seasons. They have been good in patches but whenever they were put into pressure situations, they choked and hence were left out of the tournament in the previous four seasons. They have made some significant changes to their overall management and squad.
Dean Jones has joined Karachi Kings for the upcoming season of the PSL as a head coach. Dean Jones is going to join the former Pakistan captain and the Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram in their coaching staff.
The Karachi management has decided to keep the captainship with Imad Wasim as he’s a seasoned campaigner and also holds a huge amount of leadership experience.
The no.1 T20 batsman Babar Azam has been retained by the Karachi Kings management for obvious reasons. Babar is going through a wonderful patch after the ICC World Cup 2019 and his numbers in T20 cricket are unmatchable. Their most exciting pick in the PSL 2020 Draft was perhaps Sharjeel Khan who is making a comeback after his suspension.
Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan are going to be joined by the dashing English batsman Alex Hales. Hales previously played for Islamabad United and after Dean Jones took over as the new Head Coach of Karachi, he wanted Alex Hales in the side.
All-rounders like Iftikhar Ahmed and Amir Yamin were retained by the Karachi Kings management and Mohammad Amir is also going to retain his place in the side as their specialist fast bowler. Amir is also going to serve as the leader of the attack.
Leg-spinner Usama Mir, English all-rounders Chris Jordan and Liam Plunkett have also got their names on the Karachi Kings official Squad for the PSL 2020.
Chris Jordan used to play for Peshawar Zalmi and now he’s going to play for Karachi Kings in the upcoming season whilst Liam Plunkett has got his first PSL contract with a franchise.
English batsman Dan Lawrence has been picked by the Kings as well. Cameron Delport played for Islamabad United in the last season and he’s going to mark his presence in the Karachi Kings squad for the upcoming PSL 2020.
