Jamie Carragher showed off a special edition Navy jersey, ahead of the club’s glamorous non-league fixture with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Crosby-based Marine, who plays in the eighth tier of English football, made headlines when she was drawn with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham in this year’s FA Cup third round, having already eliminated Colchester United, the opposition Football League.
While the pandemic restrictions mean that, sadly, no fan will be able to testify at the 3,000-seat Rossett Park hosting Harry Kane and Gareth Bale, a number of initiatives are helping the club make up for lost revenue. .
15,000 tickets sold. Our goal was to sell 600. Unbelievable. Thank you @SpursOfficial & everyone who bought a ticket. We will never forget it.
We will continue to update the numbers throughout the day and believe the final participation will be announced by the BBC.
THANK YOU. #COYM

The club have already sold 15,000 virtual tickets for the match, which include entry to a raffle, with the grand prize being the ability to run the club in a pre-season friendly. Mourinho has already secured his ticket, but unfortunately has opted out of collecting the reward if he wins.
“I buy,” Mourinho told reporters, via the Guardian. “If I win, I can’t do it normally because we have our preseason. I don’t think I will have any conditions to do it. But the significance of this makes me say yes to the purchase.
In addition, a number of sponsorship agreements have been signed in an attempt to help the club offset the day’s income.
Carragher, a resident of Crosby where Marine plays, will be one of the sponsors, with his JC23 foundation on display on canoes and pre-match warm-up tops.
Carra also received a special edition, a unique AFC Navy shirt, with red and blue sleeves to bring Merseyside together ahead of the game.
The Liverpool legend and childhood supporter of Everton was chosen by the club as the perfect man to unite the city for just one day with the kit which is sponsored by dairy company Cravendale.
