Jamal Musiala and Bayern Munich deadlocked on contract amid significant Premier League interest

Talented young Jamal Musiala and his club Bayern Munich remain deadlocked in talks over a new deal, opening the door for a possible Premier League move next summer.

Musiala is capitalizing on a breakout campaign, breaking Bayern records for the youngest Bundesliga player and scorer already this season. In total, the 17-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three times.

He is currently on a youth contract at the Allianz Arena, which expires in the summer of 2022, and talks about extending his stay with Die Roten have yet to be concluded. According to Goal, Musiala wants £ 100,000 a week, a figure Bayern may not have matched in negotiations yet.

With the situation booming, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City would all be watching things closely. Born in Stuttgart, Musiala spent the majority of his childhood in England and was on the books at Chelsea before being caught by the Bundesliga champions in 2019, though the Blues offered their most lucrative scholarship deal in an attempt to make it stay.

Eligible to represent England and Germany, Musiala has already been crowned by the Three Lions at several youth levels, recently making his Under-21 debut. A senior appeal shouldn’t be far either as it has seriously caught Bayern’s attention this season.

Making his first-team debut in the last campaign, he pushed this quarter, winning two starts and also being awarded a series of replacement appearances by Hansi Flick. Musiala has even played three times in the Champions League, starting in central midfielder in his side’s 1-1 draw against La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid in December.

The youngster has already shown versatility, as a winger, number ten and striker, as well as as a midfielder.
