Harry Kane injured in Tottenham clash with Liverpool

Harry Kane was taken out at half-time in Tottenham’s clash with Liverpool after being injured midway through the first half.

England spent a few minutes seeking treatment after a collision with England teammate Jordan Henderson, although he managed to find his way back before returning to play.

However, although he apparently managed to escape the blow, Kane did not reappear for the second half and was replaced by Erik Lamela.

The England captain appeared to tighten his ankle when shot down, a sight that will undoubtedly send chills down Spurs fans given his background with ankle problems.

Kane has suffered a number of ankle blows that have seen him sidelined for extended periods of time, although it remains to be seen whether the most recent blow is as bad as some of his others.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping his talisman won’t be forced to endure an extended period in the treatment room, with Carlos Vinicius being the club’s only other senior center-forward. The Brazilian has failed to score a single Premier League goal since joining the club on loan from Benfica.
