The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is just 20 days away from us and the fans back home in Pakistan can’t wait for the marquee T20 event of Pakistan to kick off. The PSL 5 is special because the whole tournament is scheduled in Pakistan across five venues.
Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan are going to host 34 matches of the glitzy T20 competition of Pakistan. As we’re heading towards the start of the PSL 5, some good news has been coming along as well regarding the participation of the foreign players in the tournament.
A lot of foreign players are excited to participate in this year’s HBL PSL and the overseas players except from South Africa, England and Australia are scheduled to arrive at least a week before the start of the tournament.
The players who are going to join later include Chris Lynn, Moeen Ali, Dale Steyn, Shane Watson, Jason Roy, Rassie Van der Dussen, Liam Plunkett, Fawad Ahmed and a few others as well.
However, players from West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand will join their respective HBL PSL teams 7 days prior to the tournament. It is also being reported that some of the players from these countries will participate in the practice matches as well.
Moeen Ali and Ravi Bopara have been picked by the Multan Sultans for the PSL 5 and both of them are also part of the Marylebone Cricket Club’s squad as well that is scheduled to tour Pakistan in the next two weeks.
There’s a lot of excitement and buzz surrounding the upcoming edition of the PSL because it is special for a lot of reasons.
For the first time in the history of Pakistan Super League, the tournament is scheduled completely in Pakistan which is huge news for all the cricket starved fans in Pakistan.
The PSL 5 anthem has been released as well and we are all set to witness the fifth edition of the HBL PSL getting hosted on the home soil of Pakistan.
