Frank Lampard has revealed that there could be movement at Chelsea during the January transfer window, but admitted players would likely have to leave before new players can enter.
After spending more than 200 million pounds over the summer on new recruits, including Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell, the Blues have acquired a great team of 29 players.
There have been various success stories including Mendy, Silva and Chilwell, while the Havertz and Werners have yet to show their best form after their big-ticket arrivals.
When asked what he expected from the window, Lampard replied (via

Lampard has admitted players will need to be offloaded or loaned out before any new faces can arrive at Stamford Bridge.
“We have a great team and we have to see if that changes, if there are opportunities for players who don’t play as much.
The club are not directly chasing a player in this window, with the former traveling midfielder explaining how he will approach the subject of players leaving the club if the situation arises.
He continued, “It will be a conversation between the player and myself and then we’ll see if we can strengthen in the right way. But we’re not jumping up and down to do it right now, I’m focusing this year just on work. It’s a long month.
This long month begins with a visit from Covid-19 to Manchester City, which Lampard still sees as extremely difficult opposition.
“In terms of their weaknesses? I do not see [any]. They are just a very strong, very well managed team, they have a lot of threats so we will have to focus on ourselves and do our best.

“I have confidence in us as a team. I know when we play at Stamford Bridge, as best we can, we have the opportunity to beat anyone.
“That said, City are right on top so when we beat them 2-1 after the restart for example it was a tough game that we had to suffer at times because they are such a good possession based team .
“I have confidence in ourselves, I know we have to be at our best to win because of the level of opposition. But if we’re at our best, we can win against any team.
