Ultimate Team players will see players like Kylian Mbappe, Kevin De Bruyne and Alphonso Davies receive huge in-game upgrades for their cards
EA Sports has officially announced the FIFA 21 Team of the Year – and for the very first time, there’s no room for Lionel Messi.

Four members of Bayern Munich’s hat-trick – Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich – made the XI, with Premier League champions Liverpool the only other club represented more than once.

The final XI was announced on January 22 at 5 p.m. GMT. In the past, cards were available in packs a few hours after the XI was confirmed.
Final ratings for the cards have yet to be revealed, but the stunning form of FIFA The Best winner Lewandowksi suggests that a 99-rated card may be in sight.
Lewandowski has scored 55 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions for Bayern as he won the treble in 2019-20, and has already broken a Bundesliga goal record in the first half of the new campaign.
Messi had already been involved with all of the Year’s squads since he started promotion in FIFA 11. He has 14 goals under his belt this season after scoring 31 goals in 2019-20, but Barcelona’s struggles are clearly not evident. not gone unnoticed in the FIFA community.
Past TOTYs have seen players gradually deploy into groups by position, with the keeper / defender first, followed by midfielders, then attackers.
Details regarding the Squad Building Objectives and Challenges (SBCs) have yet to be released, but limited-offer special packs are likely to be available in the coming days.
The team of the year is often accompanied by a vote for the 12th man, for the player who was most disappointed by the fans to see the final XI missing. Messi could therefore see a late reprieve, with Neymar another likely candidate.
