The Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy faced a lot of criticism and backlash after he tweeted something that was not entirely pleasant if we look into a deeper context. Peshawar Zalmi was up against Karachi Kings at the Pindi Cricket Stadium and Darren Sammy wasn’t taking part in the match.
However, it was after the Zalmis lost their clash against the Kings when people started muttering over Darren Sammy’s tweet before the match.
Sammy tweeted “I’ve learnt that you are important until you’ve completed your role. #dealingwithhumans,” before the game against Karachi Kings and people thought that something was definitely cooking inside the dressing room.
However, the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi later clarified with another tweet and said that he was shocked to see the negative response from the people. He also added that he was only resting for one match and he cannot even think of any rift between him and the Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi.
People believed Darren did not do well with the franchise owner Javed Afridi. “Peshawar Zalmi is my baby, and I cannot even imagine any differences with my brother Javed Afridi” Sammy rubbished everything in his latest tweet.
Sammy has been playing for Peshawar Zalmi from the start of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2016. He is one of the most loved foreign players in Pakistan and people simply adore him. He is also set to receive the honorary citizenship of Pakistan on the upcoming Pakistan Day on the 23rd or March 2020.
Darren was one of the few foreign players that were willing to come to Pakistan and played a key role in bringing back international cricket to Pakistan.
It was in 2017 when the whole Peshawar Zalmi squad traveled to Pakistan along with their foreign players as well and lifted the trophy at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium Lahore beating the Quetta Gladiators.
Sammy’s Yellow Storm will take on the Gladiators from Quetta in the next HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
