The T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been completed and the home side came out with complete domination in the first two matches.
The fans in Pakistan were expecting Bangladesh to show some fight but apart from an average performance with the bowl in the 1st T20I, the Tigers looked completely out of sorts.
In the first T20I, Bangladesh batted first and they scored 141-5 with healthy contributions from Naim Sheikh (43) and Tamim Iqbal (34).
However, the strike rate was the main problem for the Bengal Tigers as they were consuming too many balls for very less amount of runs. Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf took one wicket each.
In reply, Pakistan lost their skipper Babar Azam early on in the chase but Mohammad Hafeez and the debutant Ahsan Ali formed a significant partnership to carry the ship once again.
After both of them departed, Shoaib Malik took the center stage and played a wonderful knock on his T20I comeback.
He’s been playing around in the leagues and he was in form when he returned to the national T20I side. Malik played a wonderful innings of 58* and took Pakistan over the line in the 1st T20I.
After Shoaib Malik took Pakistan to victory in the 1st T20I, another seasoned campaigner in Mohammad Hafeez stood up in the 2nd T20I. Bangladesh batted first once again and they could only manage to score 136-6. Tamim Iqbal (65) was the lone warrior for Bangladesh as he scored a handy half-century.
Mohammad Hasnain took 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs and he was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan. Haris Rauf also impressed with his pace and took 1-27 in his 4 overs.
In reply, the skipper of Pakistan who got out on a duck in the first T20I brought out his best and Babar Azam along with Mohammad Hafeez made a mockery of the chase.
Babar finished at 66* and Hafeez at 67* to give Pakistan a much-needed series victory. Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez took Pakistan over the line after the early exit of Ahsan Ali on a duck.
The third T20I match of the series has been abandoned due to persistent rain in Lahore otherwise the green shirts were looking great to complete a whitewash at home.
