Apollon FC allows club supporters to vote for their 2021/22 kits via an app
Cypriot side Apollon FC allows supporters to vote on the complete design of their home and away kits for the 2021/22 season via a fan engagement app.
Apollo has a history of fan engagement. In October 2020, they left the squad selection in the hands of the supporters for their friendly against their local rival Aris Limassol and took the 6-0 victory.
The three-time Cypriot champions will allow supporters to choose from a selection of home and away bands designed by team kit maker Puma through the fan engagement app Socios.com.
Fans can also create and vote on a unique message to be written on the collar of shirts. This is also not the first Apollo fan vote with Socios, with the club allowing fans to choose their lineup and lineup for a friendly in October.
Puma has created three home and away models for fans to choose from. The first is a blue on white pattern, with a blue stripe running diagonally across the chest. The outer band reflects this, but with black as the predominant color as opposed to white.
The second shirt is a blue and white circled pattern, with each hoop being accompanied by thin diagonal blue stripes. Again, the away jersey is the same, but with white replaced by black.
The final shirt is a classic blue and white striped shirt with a twist, with each vertical stripe again accompanied by thin diagonal blue stripes. Black replaces the white of the away jersey.
“When we announced our partnership with Socios.com, we set out to innovate and become leaders in fan engagement,” said Apollon President Nicos Kirzis.
“Especially during the pandemic and with empty stadiums, we felt that Socios.com was the most optimal tool for keeping our supporters close and making them feel appreciated.
“Following an incredible series of polls, we are now letting $ APL token holders choose the
Apollon FC 2021/22 kits as well as the personalized message that will be printed on the jerseys, in this way
every time they watch the team play they will know they are a part of it and the players
know they have the fans by their side.
